Lakeebler Johnson was a MARTA bus passenger and was attempting to board the bus using the boarding ramp provided. The MARTA bus driver moved the boarding ramp, causing the plaintiff to lose her balance and the ramp to fall on her foot, resulting in a broken bone in her foot. The plaintiff filed a lawsuit against MARTA, alleging that they were negligent for moving the boarding ramp in a dangerous manner. After a lengthy litigation process, the case was settled for $275,000.00.
