Zagoria Law Settles Dog Attack Lawsuit for Policy Limits of $100,000

ATLANTA—April 21, 2017 – Zagoria Law, an Atlanta-based law firm specializing in personal injury cases, today announced that the firm and its co-counsel, Richmond County attorney David Bell Esq., have settled Mary O’Bryant v. Nicholas Davis, State Court of Richmond County civil action file number 2016RCSC01177. The defendant’s insurance company, State Farm, settled during discovery for the policy limits of $100,000.

On May 30, 2016, plaintiff Mary O’Bryant was walking in Richmond County when, the suit alleged, a pit-bull type dog owned by defendant Nicholas Davis charged her. While running to escape the dog, O’Bryant fell to the ground, sustaining a fractured humerus requiring surgical repair. After O’Bryant engaged Bell Law to handle the case, David Bell approached dog-bite expert David Zagoria to serve as co-counsel and initiate the suit.

“Dog bites can be life-changing, and Ms. O’Bryant’s terror was real—no matter what the intent of the dog or its owner might have been,” said Zagoria Law Founder and Principal David Zagoria. “The settlement by State Farm was an appropriate outcome for an attack that was traumatizing to our client.”
